But his journey as a father hasn’t been without heartbreak. In 2009, Mike faced an unimaginable tragedy with the loss of his 4-year-old daughter. Despite this devastating chapter, his family continues to grow and thrive. Let’s take a closer look at the lives of his remarkable children.
Tragic Loss
Mike Tyson, now 58 years old, is a name synonymous with boxing greatness and controversy. Known for his ferocious fighting style, the icon’s career boasts an array of accolades, including being the youngest heavyweight champion in history.
However, he is equally remembered for the infamous 1997 ear-biting incident during a match with Evander Holyfield, a scandal that made global headlines.

Beyond his public persona, Mike has faced profound personal tragedy. In 2009, his 4-year-old daughter, Exodus Sierra Tyson, passed away in a devastating accident at home. She tragically became entangled in a treadmill cord, leading to her untimely death.
The boxer was overwhelmed with grief and ended an interview shortly after her passing, explaining that the loss was too much for him to discuss.
“Respect, wanted to reach out and give the man a hug That’s hard thing to go through [sic],” one person shared on X, formerly known as Twitter. “That pain,” another person wrote.
A third added, “Bless him. He has always been a raw guy dealing with raw emotions and adversity. I’m glad he seems to be doing so much better now,” and a fourth typed, “Some things are just too painful to talk about.”

Years later, in 2023, he found the strength to open up about the tragedy during an episode of his podcast, “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson,” featuring guest Rick Ross. Reflecting on his grief, Mike shared, “You never recover, but you live with it.”
“You never recover, you just live with it.’That one statement made me pause the video just to comment. The way it resonated so deep within me,” one person commented.
In November 2024, during his headline-making exhibition fight against Logan Paul, Mike paid tribute to Exodus in a touching way. He stepped into the ring wearing black boxing trunks adorned with her name stitched in white on the bottom front corner.

Despite this heartbreaking chapter, the boxer has found solace in his other children, who remain a source of love and strength for him. Their lives, each unique and vibrant, have brought light back into Mike’s world, helping him navigate the ongoing journey of grief and healing.

“So proud. She’s an incredible writer and singer. Make sure you follow her page for more music,” the caption continued. The single quickly gained popularity, eventually reaching the number-one spot on the charts.
Ramsey Tyson
Ramsey Tyson, Mike Tyson’s 24-year-old child, has been a vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ issues as a transmasculine and nonbinary individual.
In 2020, they were instrumental in encouraging their father to confront rapper Boosie Badazz during an episode of “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson” after Boosie made controversial comments about Dwyane Wade’s daughter, Zaya.
Reflecting on their decision to educate Boosie, Ramsey shared, “Part of the reason why I wanted to talk to Boosie about it is because I’m a nonbinary person who’s socially transitioned amongst my friends and started a medical transition. I felt like I couldn’t not say something.”
They have also spoken about navigating being misgendered by their father in media coverage, saying, “He didn’t mean it maliciously. I’ve talked to him about gender identity briefly. It’s very sweet to say I inspired him in some way.” Ramsey continues to encourage others to amplify trans voices and educate themselves on these issues.
Amir Tyson
Amir Tyson, now an adult, has carved his own path as the owner of a successful clothing line. As an entrepreneur, he has turned his creativity into a thriving business, building a reputation that reflects his determination and his father’s pride.
In 2011, when Amir was just 13, Mike shared his hopes and concerns about his son, admitting, “He’s just nervous and afraid of life. But he’s doing so well…There are no bad influences. I have so many hopes for him.”
Miguel Tyson
Miguel Tyson has pursued a creative career as a professional travel photographer and videographer based in Los Angeles. However, in 2018, his dad posted a video of himself teaching Miguel some boxing basics.
“He just started. Not trying to box, just trying to stay fit,” the caption read. While Miguel hasn’t followed in his father’s footsteps in the ring, his passion for capturing the world through a lens showcases his unique talents and love for adventure.
Milan Tyson
Milan Tyson is a tennis player and entrepreneur who launched her activewear brand, Milan Miyla, in 2021. Her father has often expressed admiration for her strength and determination, revealing in a 2022 interview that his daughter can pack a punch.
In 2023, she attended the ESPY Awards with her father, where Mike reflected on how fatherhood has changed him, saying, “Hey, it’s about that time. I have a daughter. I can’t be who I used to be, you know? Things have to change.”

He also opened up about parenting in middle age, sharing, “My wife and kids think I’m good because now in my life with my children, I’m present. I’ve never been that way before in my life. Now that I have [children who are] 14 and 12, I’m just really present in their life.”
Morocco Tyson, Mike’s youngest son, has showcased his athletic interests on social media, posting about playing tennis. Mike has also shared moments of bonding with Morocco, including a photo and other posts of them golfing together.
When discussing the differences in parenting his sons and daughters, Mike admitted, “Yeah. I slack up on my daughters, but I don’t give my boys too much slack. I have to redefine our relationship because sometimes I’m hard on them. I got to remember they didn’t grow up in Brownsville, so they don’t need to be treated hard.”
Reflecting on the dynamic between fathers and sons, he added, “There’s a part of us that we don’t want nobody to know, but it comes out in our children. We see things that we don’t like about ourselves and we try to check him on that so he won’t be like us.”
Mike Tyson’s journey as a father reflects both the depth of his resilience and the love he has for his children. Through tragedy and triumph, each of his children has brought unique light and purpose to his life.
