The closure of Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park follows the heartbreaking incident that occurred five months ago, leading to the death of 9-year-old Brooke Carlton. Brooke tragically died after a collision with another rider on the track on June 4.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Brooke was badly injured during the accident. She later passed away at Inland Valley Medical Center at 11:24 a.m. The incident unfolded around 10 a.m. when Brooke, riding an electric motorbike, collided with another juvenile on a motorbike.

Bystanders rushed to help, performing CPR until paramedics arrived. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, Brooke succumbed to her injuries. The other rider involved sustained only minor injuries.

In the wake of Brooke’s tragic death, a GoFundMe page was launched by family friend Ally Giles to support her grieving family. The campaign aims to help the Carltons navigate this difficult time as they cope with the loss of their beloved daughter.

In a heartfelt message on the fundraising page, Brooke’s parents, Jason and Angie, wrote, “Yesterday the good Lord called our dear Brooke Lily to heaven after a freak accident at a local motocross track. Our entire family is still trying to understand why our Brookie, but we firmly believe that God needed her and called her home to be with him.”

Their family friend, Ally reminisced about Brooke with great fondness, emphasizing her love for her parents, her dog Gunner, her grandparents, and her brother Landon. She described Brooke as an absolute sweetheart who could brighten anyone’s day with her warm smile and bright blonde curls.

The family friend noted that Brooke was a spirited individual who always knew what she wanted. And that if she set her mind on something, there was no changing it.

Ally remarked that one look at Brooke’s sparkling eyes and bright smile could convince anyone that the sky was pink and purple. The friend added that Brooke had a way of making people feel compelled to buy her “an ice cream because of it.”

Following Brooke’s death, in a display of solidarity, officials at the motorsports park announced their plans for a ride to honor the little girl. They expressed their deep sadness about the situation, calling it an unfortunate accident in a statement shared on the park’s Instagram page. This tribute was intended to celebrate Brooke’s vibrant spirit and unite the community in remembrance.

Brooke was a member of Go Fast Girls, an apparel brand that embodies a ‘FAST’ community of female racers. This brand promotes a lifestyle fueled by speed and aims to empower girls and women to push the limits of motorsports and action sports.

On her profile, Brooke shared her enthusiasm for racing, stating, “I just started racing motocross in the Southern California area and I am gearing up to race BMX too! I love to be out on the track competing with other girls and going fast!”
