Is there any other president as fact-free as Donald Trump? I have to wonder because he was back to the same old schtick early Friday, during a press conference, cutting off a Fox News reporter in mid-question and trashing her the second that it appeared her question was going in a direction he didn’t like.
“On the debate, first of all, I know you’ve said that you will not do another debate,” she began.” Some of your own Republican allies have said that you missed the mark…
And then we don’t find out what she was going to ask because Trump jumped right in…”No, no, no, most of my Republican allies have said I was great at the debate.”
Then he zeroed in.
“You’re just like a lot of other people at Fox. Well, why don’t you say that almost 94 percent of the Republicans say I did phenomenally at the debate? Some said that I could have been tougher. He continued the rest of his lie-a-thon: “I don’t know how I could have been tougher when I said, “He’s the worst president and she is the worst vice president in the history of our country.”
So I did a little sniffing around. Because like any sane person, I know that Biden and Harris haven’t earned that purported ranking. Sure enough, I found this lead-in from The Guardian:
“Donald Trump finished 45th and rock bottom of a list ranking US presidents by greatness, trailing even “historically calamitous chief executives” who failed to stop the civil war or botched its aftermath.”
Trump continued his fact-free rant, claiming polls found he was the greatest thing since sliced bread (okay, I added that last part). You’ll certainly never find anything where he’s doing anything other than boasting about how great he is. The man is simply incapable of this.
Rassmussen Reports, which typically leans left, reported Trump held a two-point lead over Harris. But Rassmussen is in the minority here. According to a poll conducted by Reuters/Ipsos on Thursday, Harris lead Trump by 47 percent to 42 percent. Additionally, 53 percent of voters familiar with the debate said Harris won.
CNN and The New York Times posted polls that showed Harris did well during the debate, whereas Trump, well…not quite so much.
Trump can blow as much smoke as he wants but the polls tell a different story. For the most part, he’s not that far behind Harris, but the point is, he’s still behind. Which makes all the bile he spouted during the press conference a lie.
MeidasTouch.com editor-in-chief Ron Filipkowski caught Trump doing this at the presser in Rancho Palos Verde, California and posted:
“Trump trashes Fox reporter who dares to suggest some Republicans think he did poorly in the debate, then says a poll shows 92 percent of people think he won.”
@BuskirkUsmc noted “The @GOP @RNC won’t do an intervention. WHY? Waiting for him to die or go to prison?
@gobacktosanity added:
“He is deteriorating before our eyes, it’s only going to get worse. No one cares enough for him to get him the mental help he needs. Maybe they enjoy watching his downward spiral as much as I do. #VoteBlueDownBallot.”
But this post by @Cathi_26 is the most relevant one I’ve seen: “He’s incapable of accepting reality and losing… He’s incapable of ANY negative comments, facts or truth about him. Yet maga thinks he can handle world problems”
This is where we’re at folks. Trump is as rational as a drunk monkey. He continues to lie, misinform, and be as delusional as he’s ever been. This is a wake-up call people. If you’re still on the fence about who to vote for, then I hope you sit this election out.
