Jon Bon Jovi was captured on camera talking a “distraught” woman down from the edge of a bridge in Nashville, as per police reports. The musician was allegedly filming on the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge when the incident occurred on Tuesday evening (September 10)
The 62-year-old was reportedly working on the music video for his band Bon Jovi’s new track, ‘The People’s House’, when he was alerted to the presence of a woman on the bridge ledge. In CCTV footage shared by the local police force, Jon – whose real name is John Francis Bongiovi Jr – could be seen breaking away from his team with another woman before approaching the lady.
The trio began to engage in conversation as Jon leant on the railings of the picturesque bridge overlooking the Cumberland River. The pair encouraged the woman to come back to safety before being spotted helping her back over the railings.
After embracing the woman, Jon and the member of his team lead the woman back along the pedestrian bridge. The short clip was shared to YouTube by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD).
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter to spread the word further, a spokesperson for the MNPD shared the video and gave a “shout out” to the father-of-four for his quick thinking. “A shout out to @jonbonjovi & his team for helping a woman on the Seigenthaler Ped Bridge Tue night,” they wrote.

“Bon Jovi helped persuade her to come off the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety. ‘It takes all of us to help keep each other safe,”–Chief John Drake’.”
It’s understood the singer has training on how to speak to people in crisis due to his foundation, JBJ Soul, offering support to people struggling with homelessness and hunger.
The “heroic” act has since gone viral across social media, with one fan writing: “Footage of Jon Bon Jovi saving a woman’s life by talking with her and getting her off the edge of committing suicide, absolutely love this guy and his compassion towards people.
“My hero not only as a musician but as a human being.”
